Family, friends and ticas in general, I extend a very cordial and with a lot of love to accompany me on November 18th, 2025 at Casa Teodorico, Portón Rojo- Los Yoses. The theme is "Shattered and Reborn- Stories of Transformation".
This will be my first solo exhibition in my beloved homeland, Costa Rica.
For me personally, having this opportunity is something very important and significant. For those who remember, probably have memories of Ana Kristina, always drawing, always immersed in my own world. Art was and still is a very important instrument in my life, I can say for sure it saved my life more than once.
Still, the privilege of studying art there in Costa Rica was never given to me, it was in a dream that I could not perform. But that never ceased the passion to move forward as a self-taught person in the course of my life.
In 2016, after the passing of my mother, the door to setting up an art workshop, “Beyond the Brush” in Chattanooga, Tennessee, was no coincidence that it was born in the midst of my mourning. Since that year, I have had the privilege of teaching and imparting my passion for art to hundreds of students of many nationalities and all ages. Now the art that was mine expands to touch the lives of all these wonderful people.
Following my dream, unimaginable opportunities have opened up. I have used art to contribute to my community and it has filled me with exponential joy. If it was little, the doors were also opened to exhibit in the Basque Country in Spain, in Venice, and other wonderful cities of Italy, in Costa de Marfil, several cities of the United States, Guatemala and now finally in the land that saw me born, Costa Rica. I never imagined I could do something like this!
We've grown, and today my talented daughter Rosalia York - Swanson instructs her own student body and now she joins us too, Karis Joy Hammond! And I am convinced that this is the beginning! Dreams can come true! I seriously can't be more grateful to God!
The expo will be there for 2 months. I will be there on November 18th for the opening!
